PHARR — The Pharr Press caught up with PSJA SW High Varsity Volleyball Freshman, Melody Guerrero, and here is what she had to say about looking forward to this year’s season and about herself.
Q: What is your Team Jersey Number?
A: 15
Q: What’s your team goal for this season?
A: My team goal for the season is for everyone to reach their max potential and build a level of unbreakable trust with each other.
Q: What’s your best memory as a PSJA SW High volleyball player?
A: Well as this is my first year, my favorite memory so far is eating with the team after our first win.
Q: What are your personal goals for this season?
A: To build a super unbreakable mentality and trust in Gods plans.
Q: Describe how you started getting into volleyball?
A: I was invited by friends in my 6th grade year.
Q: What specific skills do you focus on during your training sessions?
A: Building a better mentality and pushing myself past my limits.
Q: Who is your biggest supporter in your volleyball journey, and how have they inspired you?
A: In my case I would say my family and God are and have been the biggest supporters in my volleyball journey. God has really given me the strength to push myself and give me hope when I feel like giving up. He’s really the whole reason I’m even here today. My family has helped me to just really keep coming and just giving me that support I need when I’m struggling.
Q: What is your favorite part about being a student-athlete?
A: The character you build in the process.
Q: What is one thing you love most about your hometown?
A: Everyone is so tight knit together.

A: Science

A: I really enjoy anything with fruits.
