Pharr Press Q&A: Aubrey Garza, Lady Bears Varsity Volleyball Player

PHARR — The Pharr Press caught up with PSJA High Varsity Volleyball Sophomore, Aubrey Garza, and here is what she had to say about looking forward to this year’s season and about herself.

Q: What’s your team goal for this season?

A: To play as a team win and have fun.

Q: What’s your best memory as a PSJA High volleyball player?

A: Last season when I made my first block on varsity, and all the girls were so happy for me.

Q: What are your personal goals for this season?

A: To be more involved with helping the team win.

Q: Describe how you started getting into volleyball?

A: My mom would take me to go see UTRGV games when I was smaller, and ever since then I wanted to play volleyball.

Q: What specific skills do you focus on during your training sessions?

A: To snap my wrist when I’m hitting, and to have a fast approach.

Q: Who is your biggest supporter in your volleyball journey, and how have they inspired you?

A: My mom and my coaches, they always believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself.

Q: What is your favorite part about being a student-athlete?

A: Going to school the next day after we win a game.

Q: What is one thing you love most about your hometown?

A: They are always supporting us.

A: Reading
