PHARR — The Pharr Press caught up with PSJA SW High Varsity Volleyball Junior, April Purselley, and here is what she had to say about looking forward to this year’s season and about herself.

Q: What is your Team Jersey Number?

A: 1

Q: What’s your team goal for this season?

A: My team goal for this season would be for us to be able to score more points on the bored as a team than we did last year.

Q: What’s your best memory as a PSJA SW High volleyball player?

A: My best memory as a PSJA Southwest volleyball player is making friends.

Q: What are your personal goals for this season?

A: My personal goal would to be able to get more digs and improve my defense skills.

Q: Describe how you started getting into volleyball?

A: I started getting into volleyball my 3rd grade year, I would watch volleyball in my tv and it motivated me to start practicing it.

Q: What specific skills do you focus on during your training sessions?

A: The specific skills that I focus more during my training sessions are defense.

Q: Who is your biggest supporter in your volleyball journey, and how have they inspired you?

A: My biggest supporter in my volleyball journey are my parents, they have inspired to reach my goals and never give up no matter how hard it gets.

Q: What is your favorite part about being a student-athlete?

A: My favorite part about being a student-athlete is being able to being a role model for other people.

Q: What is one thing you love most about your hometown?

A: The things I love the most about my hometown is Whataburger.

Q: What is your Favorite school subject 

A: My favorite school subject is math.

Q: Favorite food

A: My favorite food is burgers.

Q: Dream college

A: My dream college is UT Austin.
